Grade 7- The Constitution of Kenya

Constitution refers to the basic principles of the state, the structures and the processes of government and the fundamental rights of citizens that cannot be changed.

Importance of the Constitution

  1. Allows representation of the people in the parliament.

  2. Ensures justice is followed.

  3. It gives privilege of dual citizenship.

  4. It clearly states the rights and responsibilities of individuals.

  5. It outlines the structure and how resources should be shared equally.

  6. It spells out responsibilities of those in power hence promoting good governance.
